After a year of campaigning and co-operating with all agencies onboard there are still some vital questions that we as family/friends require answering from the UAE authorities. These questions were asked at our last visit to Dubai in January and we have still not been given any answers. Below are these questions.

The RN has extended the offer of providing shipmates for interview by Dubai Police and you have told the Consul General you would like to accept. We would welcome your official response on this.

The RN police have provided an evidential pack to Dubai Police. We would like to request reciprocal evidential pack.

Can you determine by forensic examination of the Dubai GSM network the electronic signature of how Timmy’s phone finally left the network? For example:

It may have been manually switched off

The battery may have been drained/discharged

The battery may have been pulled from the handset

Where did the taxi driver that dropped Timmy off at Port Rashid go afterwards?

How many taxis went into Port Rashid between 01:00 and 04:00 and where were their drop off points?

What lines of enquiry are you following on kidnap?

Anybody with answers to any of these questions please contact us using any of the details on this website.

I thought I would take the time to really explain the purpose behind the petition and what we hope to achieve to help maybe clear any doubts or deterrents which the name of the link may be having which is preventing us from reaching the 100,000 signatures we are needing.

Timmy Maccoll went missing on the 27th of May whilst serving his queen and country onboard HMS Westminster, which was docked in Port Rashid in dubai.

It has been almost 19 long and excruciatingly painful weeks that the family and friends of Missing Leading Seaman Timmy MacColl have had to endure of simply not knowing where their loveable Timmy is. Hard to imagine isn’t how they manage to just get through the day, the strength, bravery and will they all possess is truly amazing! The sad part is that although the authorities in Dubai have been following leads and doing a great job so far in the search, which the family themselves have praised, there have been too many long spells with no contact at all, no updates unless really pushed and even then the words are too few. Worse still the UK authorities have provided little communication and unfortunately it just leaves you wondering if every possible resource has been utilized to help find this serving man.

So …. The purpose for a petition:
To gain enough signatures which could lead to a debate in the House of Commons where they can really be forced to question what exactly has been done to help find Timmy and what more could be done. We are not trying to shame anyone or put anyone down – we just are trying to make someone stand up and be accountable to obtain much needed answers for everyone who loves and cares about Timmy and to bring him home.

We know that unfortunately there are far too many great service men / women who go away from their families and do not return home due to devastating events which prevent this. In Timmy’s case though, it is a bit different, we do not know where he is but as Rachael said in those very early days – He is missing and wants to be found!

What would you signature help to achieve ……
Well for starters it would help to obtain the required number of signatures to be able to submit the petition. In addition it would help to draw attention to the fact that the communication lines need to be increased, someone needs to be assuring the family that Timmy’s search is important and has been assigned enough resources to ensure everything possible is being down to help locate him and bring him home. Who knows maybe the petition could lead into a serious look at flaws in the current system which can be improved so that should this ever happen again (praying that it does not happen to anyone with all my heart) but if it does, then that family does not face the wall of silence Timmy’s family has. Lastly your signature helps to bring comfort to the family that this group does stand united and will doing everything they can to help like we all say we will do every day in the thousands of posts made.

I hope that this will help convince a few tens of thousands of you lovely members to sign the petition, post it on your walls and encourage your friends/families and co-workers to do the same.

Please do this for Rachael, Cameron, Skye, Eriskay, Sheena, Colin, Brenda, Neil, Jacqui, Royston, Lorna, Nigel, Leanne, Daniel just to name a few (sorry for those I missed – of Timmy’s family

The family of Timmy MacColl gathered at one of the world’s oldest Royal Navy ships, the frigate Unicorn, in Dundee, Angus, a popular tourist attraction yesterday.

A photo of the missing sailor, surrounded by yellow ribbon and a poster will be on display on board the ship which was first launched in 1824.

Timmy’s mother, Sheena and his grandmother, Molly MacColl, 75, both of Killin, Perthshire, put the photo in front of the Unicorn’s figurehead on the upper deck of the warship.

The yellow ribbon campaign began when the 27-year-old Leading Seaman went missing seven weeks ago from HMS Westminster while it was docked in Dubai, UAE.

Gosport, where Timmy is based, was turned into a sea of yellow by worried friends and neighbours as news of his mystery disappearance spread.

Yellow ribbons have also been tied to doors, gates and trees in his home village, Killin, Perthshire, where he grew up.

The dad-of-two’s uncle, Colin MacColl, a Tayside policeman based in Dundee, said the family is keen to keep the public aware of Timmy’s disappearance.

Mr MacColl, 52, travelled to Dubai with Timmy’s wife, Rachael, 25, her police officer uncle Neil Cunningham, 45, and mum Sheena, three weeks ago.

Dubai police chief His Excellency Lt General Dahi Khalfan al Tamim showed the family CCTV of the sailor outside the pub-club Rock Bottom where he was last seen in the early hours of May 27.

The police chief also revealed that officers had traced the driver of the taxi Timmy is thought to have been put in by shipmates at around 2am.

The driver, asked to take the sailor back to his ship at nearby Port Rashid, claimed to have got lost inside the vast docks and when he stopped at a tea shack to get directions Timmy got out the cab, it is claimed.

But an extensive land and sea search of the port aided by Royal Navy divers and underwater remote vehicles from a minesweeper which ended last week failed to find any trace of Timmy.

Last night Mr MacColl revealed: “After the meeting with the police in Dubai everybody was at their lowest point emotionally. But we were taken out to the port that night and saw for ourselves how it was almost impossible for anybody to get to the water’s edge.

“The fact that the searches have failed to find anything just raises more questions about what has happened to Timothy.

“There has been no new information. We are urging anybody who knows anything no matter how small to contact Dubai Police.”

CID in the Emirate are still investigating Timmy’s whereabouts from around 2.30am on the morning of May 27.

The huge investigation team has already been re-interviewing witnesses. Members of the HMS Westminster crew have also been quizzed again and their statements handed to Dubai officers.

The Westminster has been on operations East of Suez, pirate-busting in the Indian Ocean. It had a recent stop-off in Bahrain.

Timmy had spent his last-known day at the Dubai Seafarers’ Mission where it’s known he only had two pints of beer before his best friends left him there at around 5pm.

They were going back on duty and Timmy sent back his credit card with them.

He eventually left the Mission at around 11.30pm and arrived at the Rock Bottom Café opposite Dubai’s Burjuman Mall.

There, bouncers say they took him out of the busy club because he fell asleep in front of the bar.

Two colleagues then claim they paid the taxi driver Dhs70 (around 6.50GBP) to take Timmy back to the ship which was only a 15-minute journey away.

However, the family, who visited Dubai to retrace Timmy’s last-known steps, were told by the police that the sailors may have paid the driver only Dhs25 – two Dhs10 notes and a Dhs5 note which is similar in colour to a Dhs50 note.

The fare would have been around Dhs 30.

His family has vowed never to give up searching for him.

HMS Unicorn was built for the Royal Navy in Chatham dockyard. She spent most of her working life patrolling the seas around Dundee. She is now one of the six oldest ships left in the world.

Timmy is a father-of-two and was due to return to Portsmouth at the end of August, in time to see the birth of his third child.

Leading Seaman Timmy Maccoll is still missing in Dubai, Timmy went missing after getting in a Taxi outside of the Rock Bottom Bar in Dubai at around 0220 hours on Sunday 27th May 2012. Over the past four and a half weeks the support that persons in and out of the UK have given to the family has been wonderful. Timmy’s wife Rachael, his mother Sheena and the family have shown a courage that befits the stature and respect that Timmy commands amongst his family, friends and peers.

Over the last weekend Rachael and Sheena traveled to Dubai to understand and seek information as to what has happened to Timmy. This trip was hard for all those who went and the family members who stayed at home waiting for news. Meetings were held with the relevant authorities from Dubai and the UK, one thing is clear at this time is that Timmy is still missing!!

Rachael and Sheena were afforded an opportunity to meet with the investigating body, the Dubai Police. His Excellency the head of the Dubai Police had a full working knowledge of the investigation to date. The family were presented with the known facts, we will not disclose what was told to us in the body of this meeting. What stood out from this precious get together was that the resources, integrity and professionalism of the Dubai police has been what would be expected from a proud and honorable nation. It is difficult to express in words our thanks to the police and other agencies in Dubai who have conducted a thorough and diligent investigation in which lines of inquiry have been identified and investigated with the utmost efficiency. Rachael, Sheena and the family are fully supportive of the work conducted by the experienced investigators within the Dubai Police.

The social networking and media at home and in Dubai have been inspiring, courteous and helpful in raising the profile of our plight in finding Timmy Maccoll. I on behalf of the family cannot thank you all for your comments of support and ideas for the investigation team. I can assure you that all suggestions and ideas have been explored by the experienced police officers in Dubai. At this difficult time we ask that the media respect our silence and allow the family a period of time to take stock of the past four and a half weeks and accept that whilst we are doing all we can to find Timmy we are confident with the professionals that are working day and night to locate Timmy. The media have been sensitive to our needs at this time and we thank you for your assistance in raising the awareness of our plight.

This was written for the website late last night by rachael…..

“Hey Hun could you please pop this message onto the website for me, today has been another long hard day with no news on my hubby being found, my uncle is currently in Dubai on my behalf and has visited the ducati cafe where he had a good chat to the manager and staff, its now come to light that he was given a free red ducati t-shirt which is most likely the tshirt he was wearing when he went missing, he also got two toy motorbikes for the children. My uncle was kind enough to buy the kiddies the items that their daddy was going to give to them. He also wore a tshirt with timmys picture on and walked the route he was last seen doing, he’s visited the port and met police liason officers. Once again I’m incredibly thankful to the the Dubai authorities, police and ex-pats they are all working hard to help find him. Tonight is going to be really hard for me as they are holding a midnight vidual for Timmy to Mark the two week anniversary of his disappearance. The children are aware of what’s happening and it has hit them hard I’ve been spending alot of time with them and reassuring them as best I can, at this time I have requested some privacy from the press so I can be with my children which is the most important thing. I would like to thank my amazing friends for helping to run the facebook and website and the support from all it’s members has been amazing. Please understand that I am living each day as it comes, some days I just can’t face what is going on and on the days that I can I’m concentrating on getting answers. I have incredible friends and family around me I’m so lucky to have their support. Baby is doing great and kicking wildly now, my health is good and I’m resting as much as I can. I will repost again soon thank you for your support, kindest regards rach x”

Please do not leave comments on here, that is what the Facebook group is for. That way the informaton stays readily available.
